Extensions to Integrator Developer Suite Support Latest ARM Technology

CAMBRIDGE, U.K.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2001--ARM (LSE:ARM) (Nasdaq:ARMHY), the industry's leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC processor solutions, has enhanced its Integrator(TM) Developer Suite to support designers working on the next generation of hardware and software development.

The Integrator suite enables System-on-Chip (SoC) designers to integrate hardware and software platforms easily and seamlessly with ARM® core-based microprocessors. This latest version supports a wider range of cores and has a synthesis-friendly bus structure. In addition, it supports the very latest in FPGA technology from leading manufacturers.

The first ARM Integrator solution was launched in 1999 and since then it has become widely used within the developer community. The first Integrator Interface Module, the IM-PD1, targets the portable and consumer entertainment markets. Interface Modules aimed at other vertical markets are also planned.

``The ARM Integrator suite has become an invaluable tool in the developer's armoury and we are ensuring that it continues to support partners and OEMs with the introduction of these new extensions,'' said Gordon Stubberfield, ARM product manager. ``By providing this development support, ARM continues to offer the best and most comprehensive development environment to our partners while offering a standardized firmware platform. This will allow them to reduce their development times, give them greater confidence that first silicon will be right-first-time and ultimately reduce time-to-market.''

The Integrator extensions are available immediately from ARM and its global network of development systems distributors including Antycip, France; MSC Vertriebs, Germany; Phoenix Technologies, Israel; Arrow Electronics, North America, Future Techno Designs, Singapore, India, Malaysia and the Phillipines; and YDC, Japan.
